HAZIENDA - a carathotels magazine

It is amazing what can come of the simple idea of producing a different kind of menu! This little idea fell on fertile ground, the team were fired up with inspiration and now you see the first edition of our HAZIENDA magazine.

Eating, drinking and enjoying life together are not just important parts of life in Central America. No matter whether you’re with family, friends or colleagues, you’ll always find the right ingredients in our menu for a wonderful meal – be it a cosy, small affair or a big group of you. Read what goes into Tex-Mex cuisine and how it has become food that promises fireworks. And to go with a good meal and some good literature are the great wines of Spain, which have a centuries-old passion for wine growing to thank for their quality.

With a good dose of curiosity we have set about tackling the subject of traditions and cultures. We stroll in the footsteps of the Mayas, Incas and Aztecs, travel right across Mexico and take a look at the life of the Texan cowboys in the “good old days” and in modern-day America, too.

We have also taken the opportunity to show you our best side – a passion for everything that a hotel should offer: the best beds and the best breakfast in town (caratbeds & caratbreakfast). We also talk about our passion for great art and why we are aiming to support young and as yet little-known visual artists with our new foundation. Finally, we take you with us on a walk through Basel, Frankfurt,
Düsseldorf and Munich to show you the artistic hot spots in each of these great cities.
